PMB Aero Club has been providing quality flight training since May 1938 making it one of the oldest flying clubs in South Africa. We are registered with the South African Civil Aviation Authority and have an excellent safety record.
We are an independent non-profit organisation that is dedicated to fostering aviation and providing flying opportunities to our members at the best possible rates. We operate a fleet of aircraft that is reviewed regularly to ensure that it meets our changing needs.
We use a two-seat low wing Sling 2 trainers and a four seater Cessna 172 for our ab initio flight training with full-time instructors available throughout the week and weekends.
The Sling trainers are South African designed and built aircraft, and are a delight to fly! They have circumnavigated the globe multiple times, and are built at Tedderfield outside Johannesburg at The Airplane Factory. One of our completed PPL students is an Engineer working at the Factory. The Cessna is a reliable, forgiving, trainer and favourite family aircraft. These stoic aircraft have stood the test of time and are a favourite of many pilots.
Our courses cover a range of licences, from Private Pilot to Airline Transport Pilot, all of which are tailored to your exact needs.
Full-time students can get a Private Pilot License in just 3 to 4 months, while part-time options are also available for those who are working or studying.
